The event begins with a pre-Congress party Thursday featuring socializing and social dancing with world renowned salsa dancers from New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Canada followed by Friday and Saturday filled with 30 dance workshops, 50 dance showcases and performances, a live concert by Chino Espinoza y Los Duenos Del Son, and endless social dancing. “We are extremely honored and excited to have Chino Espinoza and his band here in Utah for the first time to perform at our Congress. This is a band and concert series not to be missed,” said Maria Ivanova, co-founder of SalsainUtah.com. Vocalist Mirley Espinoza, known by fellow musicians as “Chino El Sonero”, is originally from Costa Rica and has been performing with top musical groups since 1990. Just a few of the world famous instructors and performers include Ana and Joel from Masacote Entertainment, distinguished for their style and body movement, Junior and Emily who are second place world salsa champions, and Magna Gopal, notorious for her fluidity and never ending spins. “Salsa Congresses are famous and popular around the Country. We are proud to be hosting Utah’s Congress, to welcome so many sought after performers and salsa bands and to create an amazing dance and cultural experience for Utah,” said Ivanova.
